Hamlet Centre Adult Services

Here at our Ella Road building we offer day support to young people from the age of 18 and up. The Adult Services team provides opportunities for students to learn and practice the skills they need to make a real future for themselves. We offer a wide range of activities across the week so that the forty young people who come to the centre can individually choose a programme which meets their needs. As well as basic education, computing and self advocacy, we also provide art and crafts, personal development and leisure activities.

Independent living skills

Much of our programme takes place outside the Centre, with students taking part in courses and activities at our adapted city flat and other community venues. This service focuses on independent living skills and gives students a different experience to the main Hamlet Centre environment. The students are supported by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.

Out of Hours Service

In 2006 we set up the Out of Hours Service which allows this support to be extended to evenings and weekends. This project gives young people and adults with disabilities an opportunity to mix with their peers for activities on evenings and weekends. A loyal team of volunteers enable us to offer these activities.
