Holiday Short Breaks – Complex Health Needs

These Short Breaks are for 16 children per day from 3 to 18 years. They run from 9.30am to 3.30pm for 24 days throughout the year and 10 Saturdays. There is a qualified Children’s Nurse on site from Norfolk Community Healthcare Trust at each session. Each child/young person has a one-to-one support worker to enable them to make active choices and fully participate in fun, age appropriate activities. The children and young people are able to enjoy themselves in a safe and stimulating environment away from home and school.

We also run on the 4th Saturday of each month, except for April and August, a scheme for 16 children with complex needs not requiring a nurse.

Each child/young person has an up-to-date detailed Care Plan, bringing together information from their family, health, education and social services which ensures they are provided with high quality care.

Children/young people can be referred by parents/carers or in conjunction with health care professionals, school/nursery staff, social services, or any other professional working with the child.  Referrals are made by calling 01603 766566 during office hours (Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm) and speaking to Terri or Fiona. Once a referral has been made registration forms are sent to parent/carers for them to provide more information. These forms must be returned before any allocations can be made.
