Art work going swimmingly…

Lots of work is going on in our art room … the exhibition is going to be sooooo fantastic!!

It’s raining toys…

We’re delighted to have received our first toy donation! Having read about us in the paper, this lovely family had a serious clear-out and surprised us with literally dozens of fantastic toys and games (electronic ones are most popular), which are now made available for loan. THANK YOU!

Opening Event was great success

Our official opening event for the new Children’s Services Centre was amazing – with over 150 guests and friends listening to moving speeches and hearing all about our ‘historic moment’. NCFC’s Leon Barnett and BBC’s Stewart White added celebrity sparkle and many happy faces were seen in the centre. Here’s a snapshot of the event, with more photographs of the wonderful afternoon here…

Craft & Wellbeing Fair 11th Dec

Everybody is invited to a Craft & Wellbeing Fair at the Owen Barnes Room in New Costessy on December 11th. There will be a big array of stalls with books & clothes, bric-a-brac, complementary health products and procedures, a raffle and refreshments – 50% of proceeds will go to the Hamlet Centre Toy Library. Helpers are still needed, for more details see flyer. Hope to see you there…

They are here…

We’ve taken delivery of a box full of shiny new collection boxes, to be picked up here at Ella Road anytime within office hours. If anyone is interested in becoming a new collection box volunteer for us…. we’d love to hear from you. There are still a few areas not covered currently or maybe you know of the right pubs/shops/places in your neighbourhood?

Masquerade Ball

Staff member Clare says: “It was an amazing night at the Ball last Friday. The event raised funds for the Hamlet Centre, and our thanks go to Liz, Swaffham  Start manager for organizing it. A wonderful time was had by all.”

New Chief Executive

The Board of trustees of the Hamlet Centre Trust is delighted to announce that Pauline Morgan has been appointed as its new Chief Executive. Pauline brings with her a wealth of experience, both in delivery and management of services in Health, Children’s Services and Further Education. Pauline has been very impressed by the outstanding work at the Hamlet Centre over the last few years, and is looking forward to supporting and building on that as new chapters open at Ella Road and Johnson Place. Pauline will start at The Hamlet Centre on 21st November, and will overlap for the first week with Michael Rooney. Michael’s last day will be on 25th November.

Space for creativity

Our students at Ella Road have been using the art room to create large format striking artworks for the walls, aren’t they fabulous!

BTW: The banners on the building site are gone, but our ‘donate by text’ facility is still here!!

You can text the word HAMLET to 70007 – and we will receive an instant donation of £3 per text. You will be charged £3 plus your standard network rate for a text on your next bill/the amount will be deducted from your calling credit – all done! THANK YOU!
